Playing with heart in Mobile, Alabama. Chasing every rep, every route, every Saturday under the lights at Hancock Whitney Stadium.

Division I Cornerback | Mentor | Leader | Committed to Excellence On and Off the Field
Jaylen Moson is a junior cornerback at the University of South Alabama, where he wears #12 for the Jaguars. A graduate of Kennesaw Mountain High School, his journey to Mobile has been defined by perseverance, resilience, and a commitment to continuous growth.
At Kennesaw Mountain, Jaylen was a three-star recruit and a First Team All-Region selection as a senior after leading Cobb County with five interceptions. His standout high school career earned him a scholarship to Furman University, where he appeared in seven games over two seasons, helped the Paladins capture the 2023 Southern Conference (SoCon) Championship, and was named to the SoCon All-Freshman Team. During the 2024 season, he recorded 20 total tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception.
Following the 2025 spring season, Jaylen entered the transfer portal and joined the University of Utah. Although a Grade 2 hamstring injury kept him from seeing game action, the setback only strengthened his determination. He ultimately found the right fit at the University of South Alabama, where he is prepared to make an immediate impact in the Sun Belt Conference.
Off the field, Jaylen is committed to giving back. He mentors and trains high school defensive backs, sharing the techniques, discipline, and mindset that have helped him reach the Division I level. He also regularly returns to Kennesaw Mountain High School to encourage and invest in the next generation of players.
Jaylen is the son of Brad Moson and Kiera Harper and is pursuing a degree in Communications. Football is deeply rooted in his family. His father played collegiate football at the University of West Georgia, and his grandfather, John Moson, was a respected high school football coach who inspired and impacted countless young athletes throughout his coaching career.
Respected as much for his character as his performance on the field, Jaylen exemplifies the true student-athlete. He prioritizes academics while competing at the highest level, maintaining a 3.0 GPA while demonstrating leadership, discipline, and integrity in every aspect of his life.

Cut-ups from practice and game action — press coverage, ball skills, and hits on tape.
Between seasons Jaylen heads back home to Kennesaw, Georgia to speak with the football program he came up in and to train the high school defensive backs coming behind him — teaching stance, hip flip, ball skills, and the mindset it takes to play the position at the next level.
"I recognize that my ability is not something I earned on my own, but a gift from God. With that gift comes a great responsibility. Every opportunity He has given me is about more than football. It is an opportunity to honor Him, lead by example, and positively impact those who are following behind me. My goal is to steward this gift with humility, integrity, and purpose, both on and off the field."
